About the event

What is the origin of the green cottage district in Vienna-Währing? Why has it developed into one of Vienna's most prestigious and desirable residential areas? Where is Felix Salten's Bambi award located? Where does Türkenschanzpark get its name?


We'll stroll past Vienna's most beautiful villas and learn about their once-famous residents. We'll end at Türkenschanzpark near the Paulinenwarte lookout tower, which is open for climbing today and rewards visitors with a fantastic view (cost: €0.80). Anyone who still has time and energy afterwards is welcome to join us for refreshments at Café Meierei (https://www.meierei-diglas.at/ ). (Food and drinks not included).


Start: in front of the Gregor Mendel House (BOKU), Gregor-Mendel-Straße 33, 1180 Vienna (Bus lines 40A or 37A stop Linnéplatz or 10A stop Dänenstraße)


End: At the Paulinenwarte or in the Café Meierei Diglas in Türkenschanzpark, Hasenauerstraße 56, 1180 Vienna (Bus line 40A Gregor-Mendel-Straße or tram line 40/41/S45 Gersthof)
