About me
"From village child to globetrotter"
that would probably describe me best in one sentence!
Already as a small child, I was fascinated by faraway countries, and travelled there with my fingers on the big world map :-)
As soon as I was old enough, I started travelling the world. A job in a travel agency and later as a world wide tour guide was the logical consequence. Since 2017 I have been working as Austria Guide, guiding mostly in Vienna and surroundings.
What do I love?
I love showing my favorite city - Vienna - to my guests from all over the world. I like discovering new areas, researching about them, and putting together a tour. I enjoy reading biographies of people who have left a footprint. That's why I take pleasure in visiting Vienna's Central Cemetery, as every gravestone tells something interesting about the deceased person.
What do I want to give?
Explaining the history and stories of Vienna in an understandable way for everyone is very important to me.
I want to be an inspiration and orientation, so that you can get a good overview within a short amount of time. If you know Vienna already, I want to show you less known areas.
How does Vienna feel to me?
Like an elegant lady who likes to sit in one of the many coffee houses with Melange (traditional coffee with milk) and Sachertorte (typical chocolate cake). She appreciates the wide range of art & culture. Sometimes she is a bit melancholic and keeps hanging on to the imperial flair of the Habsburgs (Sisi and Franzl ;-)
Then she strolls through the many parks and gardens, hikes along the vineyards of the Kahlenberg hill and adores the beautiful view of the Danube metropolis. She visits a Heurigen (wine tavern) in the evening and enjoys the "Wiener Gemütlichkeit" (feeling cozy) with a glass of Grüner Veltliner (typical white wine) - cheers!
Another part of her enjoys the multicultural and international coexistence, the modern architecture, the Old Danube area, especially in summer. Then the lady turns into a young girl who dances the night away and hangs out at Danube Canal, in the Prater or at Rathausplatz and is happy to live in the greenest and most liveable city in the world.
Life is like a long walk and I'm always out for a walk.
Maybe you would like to join me for a walk?
I look forward to receiving your request :-)
