Vienna's oldest suburb boasts a legendary history, including the Angel Fountain and the "wailing tree." Mozart's Magic Flute was performed in the former Freihaus Theater. Renowned composers such as Brahms, Gluck, and Strauss II lived and worked on the Wieden.
The trendy Freihausviertel with its density of bars, the Wiedner Hauptstraße and the Gußhausviertel are part of the walk and at the end we take a look at the baroque Karlskirche/Charles church.

Vienna's Stammersdorf
Wine hiking tour through a wine village in the 21th district
What is the history of this part of Floridsdorf, where we find one of Vienna's most charming cellar lanes? Wine production and the magnificent location on the southeast slope of the Bisamberg make the area special. At the same time, it has been repeatedly subjected to enemy attacks over the centuries and has held important military significance.
On this wine-hiking tour, we walk from the end station of the tram line 31 through the old town center with Freiheitsplatz and the church to Stammersdorfer Kellergasse, enjoying fantastic views of Vienna along the vineyards.
This wine-hiking tour will, of course, end at a typical Heuriger (wine tavern) (optional, food not included).
Important note: The route is just under 10 km long, with constant uphill sections and some forest access, so good fitness and hiking boots, along with something to drink and perhaps some light snacks, are recommended!

"Death – that must be a Viennese!" Why are Viennese people said to have a special relationship with death? When and why was Vienna's Central Cemetery established? Which famous people have found their final resting place here, and what do their gravestones tell us about their lives?
Europe's second-largest cemetery unites all religions in one area, offering meditative energy in the park of peace and strength. The Jewish section is the most mysterious, and nature is reclaiming the graves. It's not uncommon to encounter deer, foxes, and hares here.
