About the event
Europe's second-largest cemetery unites all denominations in one area, offering a meditative atmosphere in its park of peace and tranquility. The Jewish section is the most mysterious, and nature is reclaiming the graves. It's not uncommon to encounter deer, foxes, and hares here.
This guided hike, lasting approximately 4.5 to 5 hours, includes visits to the following sites: the Buddhist section, Lueger Church and its crypt, honorary graves, the forest cemetery, the memorial grove (for Falco), and the Park of Peace and Strength. A break of approximately one hour will be taken at a restaurant near Gate 2 (main entrance). The tour concludes with a visit to the Jewish cemetery (head coverings are required for men).
Important note: Comfortable shoes, warm clothing, something to drink and a willingness to hike (approx. 8 km, but all flat) are recommended.
